Influence of the weather on the course of the Battle of Chocim (1621)

Due to summer downpours, the concentration of Turkish troops near Chocim in 1621 was significantly slowed down. On the other hand, the heat in the Commonwealth at the end of August delayed the arrival of Prince Władysław Zygmunt Waza to the border of forces, which had an impact on the plans of the Polish command. Artur Goszczyński writes about the influence of the weather on the course of the battle.

We are pleased to announce that The Humanities Yearbook of Radzyn Podlaski has passed the evaluation process positively and is indexed in the Index Copernicus International Journals Master List database for 2020. The Index Copernicus Value (ICV) value is 74.05.

This means an increase by another 3.15 points. compared to 2019.

The crimes of the gendarme Goldgruber

In November 1939, Albert Goldgruber was transferred from his post in Austria to Radzyń Podlaski, where he became the commander of the military police in the rank of captain for the counties of Biała Podlaska, Puławy and Radzyń Podlaski. The adventures of Henoch Gotesdyner from Radzyń Podlaski with a transport license

The carrier Henoch Gotesdyner lived in pre-war Radzyń Podlaski. In 1936, the provincial office forced him to suspend his business. Alicja Gontarek discusses his case against the background of the policy of issuing concessions for commercial transport in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. Social acts in the Bialskopodlaskie voivodship

It is a story about social and party acts. Małgorzata Nikoniuk reminds about this, so characteristic of the peak of the Polish People’s Republic, now obsolete phenomenon, based on the example of the Biała Podlaska Province. The acts were an undertaking promoted by the communists, constituting a free form of voluntary social activity, performed outside the scope of professional duties, and thus used for propaganda purposes as a manifestation of social obedience to the authorities.

Confessors of the Mariavite faith and the Office for Religious Affairs

Ziemowit Bylicki’s article deals with the activity of the communist Office for Religious Affairs towards the Mariavite Church. The author defines the scope of contacts between the Office of Foreigners and the Mariavite Church, on the basis of which he draws the image of the Mariavites emerging from the documentation produced by the Office, kept in the State Archives in Siedlce.
